William Balfour was arrested at Stateville Correctional Center where he was being held on parole violation charges.
Until his arrest, Balfour had been considered a person of interest in the October 24 murders. Curtis Lavelle Vance, 28, is being held without bond for the murder of Anne Pressly.
Investigators now believe Vance raped an eastern Arkansas school teacher while she was taking a shower in her home. Rosario DiGirolamo was charged with the murder of 27-year-old Amy Giordano whose dismembered body was found in a suitcase at the bottom of a pond.
DiGirolamo has been held in New Jersey jail since he was charged in March.
