If workers are to have a voice in our country’s ever-changing economy, unions must play a greater role in creating and retaining good jobs.” John J. Sweeney President AFL-CIO and President of the Institute’s Board of Directors"Everything we do at the Institute is about creating a high road economy—an economy that generates good jobs and builds stronger communities. It requires a great deal of research, analysis and planning. It requires resources and commitment from all levels of government and from community organizations. Most of all, it requires the participation of employers and unions who are willing to work together to share the benefits as well as the costs.” Nancy Mills Executive Director AFL-CIO Working for America Institute   AFL-CIO Working for America Institute 815 16th Street, NW Washington, DC 20006 Phone: 1-202-508-3717 Fax: 1-202-508-3719 Created and maintained by TechBots Copyright © Working for America Institute       April report available now /* Cross browser marquee script */ //Specify the marquee's width (in pixels) var marqueewidth=150 //Specify the marquee's height (in pixels, pertains only to NS) var marqueeheight=20 //Specify the marquee's scroll speed (larger is faster) var speed=3 //Specify the marquee contents var marqueecontents='Click here for new manufacturing report' if (document.all) document.write(''+marqueecontents+'') function regenerate(){ window.location.reload() } function regenerate2(){ if (document.layers){ setTimeout("window.onresize=regenerate",450) intializemarquee() } } function intializemarquee(){ document.cmarquee01.document.cmarquee02.document.write(''+marqueecontents+'') document.cmarquee01.document.cmarquee02.document.close() thelength=document.cmarquee01.document.cmarquee02.document.width scrollit() } function scrollit(){ if (document.cmarquee01.document.cmarquee02.left>=thelength*(-1)){ document.cmarquee01.document.cmarquee02.left-=speed setTimeout("scrollit()",100) } else{ document.cmarquee01.document.cmarquee02.left=marqueewidth scrollit() } } window.onload=regenerate2 Past Conferences Other Conferences Search this site or the web powered by FreeFind     Site search   Web search Publications Menu Action Briefs, Brochures and Checklists NEW!
